HERB SUBSTITUTIONS

Magickal Substitutions

Whether you are just starting out in the Craft or an older Practitioner, you either know or will know, that herbs are must for any witch. A herb is a staple in any witch’s kitchen. From an every day herb to an exotic herb, a witch can make so many things with just that one little plant. Everything from a potion to a every day bar of soap that is enjoyed by the entire family. But, what if you don’t have that herb available or you forgot it on your last trip to the store, what then? Perhaps there is a substitute that can be used for that herb. Do you know that substitution right off hand? I admit there are so many herbs, it is hard to keep them all straight in your head.

When in doubt, we have provided you with this handy chart that you can refer to at anytime. There will be no more doubt about substituting this herb for that herb. If you would like, print this page out and keep it as a handy reference. We not only have herbal substitution but also essential oil substitutions listed. At the end of the substitution lists, you will also find a short description of all baneful herbs. Don’t hurt to know them either. We hope you enjoy this section, find it useful and use it often.
